Profiles in Goodwill: Holly Hollman

Holly Hollman grew up in Jackson, Mississippi.

Holly Hollman is the general counsel and associate executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty.

1. Where did you grow up?

Jackson, Mississippi.

2. What is your favorite verse, book or story in the Bible? Why?

Lately, I am drawn to Matthew 5:45, particularly as translated in "The Message."

It is comforting to know we are all equal in God's eyes - loved and called to love others.

3. What is your favorite movie? Why?

"About a Boy" is the movie I can't pass up when it is on T.V.

It is full of quirky, broken, obviously imperfect people, and I love when Marcus says, "Two people isn't enough. You need backup. If you're only two people, and someone drops off the edge, then you're on your own. Two isn't a large enough number. You need three at least."

4. Who are three people you admire?

Jo and Harold Hollman (my parents), Tom Hudson (the pastor who baptized me in Mississippi and officiated my wedding in Nashville) and University of Tennessee legendary coach Pat Summitt.

5. What is one little-known fact about yourself?

I still like to jump on trampolines and in bounce houses whenever I get the chance.
